Reflexology has been practiced for over 5,000 years. This ancient therapy, which originated in China, India, and Egypt, has evolved into an essential part of mainstream health care. So, what is reflexology? It is a holistic treatment that involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, face, and ears to stimulate the body's natural healing process. The therapy is based on the principle that these areas correspond to different parts of the body. A reflexologist uses their hands to apply pressure to these points. During a reflexology treatment, you may experience a tingling or deeply relaxing sensation, but it should not be painful, making it a wonderful way to enjoy the many benefits of reflexology.
What is reflexology? It is a therapeutic practice that can help alleviate stress, improve circulation, boost the immune system, and promote overall well-being. The benefits of reflexology also extend to addressing specific health conditions, such as headaches, digestive problems, and insomnia. While reflexology treatment does not diagnose or prescribe for illness, it aims to induce a sense of calm within the mind-body and enhance an overall feeling of well-being.
At your first reflexology treatment, we will take an extra 10 minutes or so to discuss what brings you to reflexology and to explore the benefits of reflexology tailored specifically for you. You can recline in a comfortable chair, and if you'd like to feel cosy, I'll cover you with a blanket. Warm towels will be provided for the treatment, so you won’t have to move or turn over. I will use organic oil, balm, or facial elixirs selected based on your needs. Then, simply allow yourself to release, relax, and reset.
